Q. What FM frequencies does the MviX use?

The MviX MV-5000U Media Center uses the following FOUR FM Frequencies:

  • 87.7 Mhz
  • 88.1 Mhz
  • 88.5 Mhz
  • 88.9 Mhz

Q. How can I backup and play my DVDs?

Backing up and Playing DVD files is an extremely simple process. All you have to do is to transfer all your DVD files (.VOB and .IFO) from your DVD to your MviX HDD. Put them all in one folder ( e.g. name of the Movie/video)

Once all these files are in the folder on MviX. Connect your MviX to you TV, navigate to enter the folder. Select "Autoplay" (left column menu). The movie will start exactly like your DVD. You can use DVD menus and choose languages/subtitles etc. just like a DVD playback.

Some DVD files have embedded parental control setting. This setting may not allow you to play the movie unless disabled.

Q. Does the MviX Player (5000U/4000U) work on dual voltage?

YES, MviX media player are versatile. The power adapter is designed to work with both 220 or 110V power.

This is done specifically to allow portability of the player. You can use this player while travelling across continents!

Q. What screen aspect ratios are supported by MviX?

MviX is compatible with all standard screen aspect ratios:

The following aspect ratios can be selected from the setup interface of the media player:

  • 16:9 Widescreen
  • 4:3 letter box

Mvix also provides video upscaling to 1920 X 1080i, 1280 X 720p resolutions.

Q. Does MviX support NTSC or PAL video formats?

MviX Media Centers are truly multi-system, global media players.

MviX supports BOTH NTSC and PAL video formats.

You can easily select the video source in the setup menu of MviX player.

MviX players can be connected to Multiple Voltage power outlets: AC 110~220V AC or 12V DC. This feature ensures portability of the player and provides flexibility of use.

Q. How many Media files can I store on MviX?

MviX Media Players do NOT come with a pre-installed Hard Drives (HDD). In order to ensure scalability, we prefer that you choose the size of HDD you want to install in it.

For reference, If you install a 400Gb IDE Hard Drive into the unit. You may be able to store the following:

  • 500 movies in Mpeg-4 format
  • 650 movies in DivX or XviD format
  • 80 movies in DVD format (VOB/IFO)
  • 100,000 MP3 files
  • 400,000 JPG files
  • 400Gb Data files

(Please note: the above sizes are standard estimates and the number may vary depending on the individual media size)

Q. What OS is used in Mvix? Can I install any software on it?

Mvix Uses a propreitary Firmware. Any changes or modifications to the firmware can result in damage to the player (and also voids the warranty).

Mvix can be used as an external storage device ( e.g. External HDD Storage) to store software files, document files, media files etc.

Q. Can I create a MP3 playlist on Mvix Player?

Yes, you can easily create a playlist of Mp3 audio files on the Mvix player using your MviX remote. When you are in the folder containing your Mp3 files, just select these files and then select PLAYLIST.
